Car history:
1) Sometimes you just know when a Corvette person has cared for your car. This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette retains its original color combo, A/C interior, and the numbers-matching V8. And the solid feeling you get behind the wheel lets you know this is a turn-key classic that can impress even the ficklest crowds.
Silverstone Silver is a great color to have on a first-year C3 'Vette. This one has been given a professional respray during its lifetime that really lets the precious metal finish radiate in the sunshine. Now the paint lives up to its European racetrack namesake by being both sophisticated and sporty all in its first impression. This one has been exceptionally well cared for over the years, so the clear coat has a nice luster that accentuates the new-for-'68 body. For many, the early chrome bumper cars are the ones to own, and the bright work here is nicely finished. Top it off with a correct rally wheel package on standout redline tires, and this is the kind of car that will grab attention wherever it goes.
The black interior is a nice complementing color to the silver exterior. An enthusiast's level of care has been taken with the bucket seats, door panels, and carpeting to give you a nicely presented and highly original total package. From behind the three-spoke steering wheel you get a commanding view of the large dual pod speedo and tach as well as the full gauge package to the side. There's also the convenience of the original AM/FM stereo, power locks, and power windows. The coupe seals up nicely, but we bet this is going to be more of an open-air experience for you. After all, those T-tops are huge fun, and this is one of the years the rear window is removable. So you get the wind-in-your-hair experience of a convertible, but with added safety and security. Best of all, the factory air conditioning means you can stay cool with the roof off any time of year.
The engine is the original, numbers-matching 327 cubic-inch V8. You can instantly tell that this is a cared-for coupe by the way the bold block, matching valve covers, and bright air topper all look great. Plus, the wires and hoses have the kind of fresh appearance of good maintenance. Topped with a four-barrel carburetor, this is the exact kind of car that helped the small block earn its powerful and dependable reputation. Plus, the fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes make this an impressive sports car even by modern standards. Add in features like the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and cruise control, and this one is perfect for the grand tour.
Complete with owner's manual, title documentation, and original brochures, this is the silver lightweight fiberglass sports car that has been treated like precious metal. Ended on December 24, 2017.
